Clinton, MS – March 15, 2024 – The Mississippi Low Income Child Care Initiative (MLICCI) invites single moms to “Turning Vision Into Action and Action Into Change” mini conference on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clinton, MS. Single moms can expect to gain invaluable insights and resources throughout the day. This groundbreaking event will focus on empowering single mothers through financial literacy, business ownership, and voter education.

The Super Moms mini conference is another iteration of MLICCI’s Employment Equity for Single Moms Program, which provides single moms with access to child care by working with job force centers across the state to create pathways for advanced education and job training.

The conference aims to address the unique challenges faced by single mothers and equip them with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in various aspects of their lives. The conference will feature a series of dynamic workshops and keynote presentations led by experts in finance, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn practical strategies for budgeting, saving, and investing, as well as exploring pathways to business ownership and financial independence.

In addition to financial empowerment, the conference will also emphasize the importance of civic engagement and voter education. With the upcoming elections, single moms will have the chance to learn about their rights, responsibilities, and the significance of active participation in the democratic process.

“We are thrilled to host the Super Moms Conference in the Greater Jackson area,” said Jearlean Osborne, Child Care Organizer at MLICCI. “Our goal is to provide single mothers with the knowledge and resources they need to achieve financial stability, pursue entrepreneurial endeavors, and engage meaningfully in the political process. By empowering single moms, we can strengthen families and communities as a whole.”

The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 5007 Hampstead Blvd. in Clinton, MS. Registration is now open, and there is no cost to participate. The deadline is May 8, 2024. For more information and to register, visit www.mschildcare.org or follow MLICCI on any of our social media platforms.
